0091-4169/00/9503- 1145 THE JOURNAL OF CRIMINAL LAW & CRIMINOLOGY Vol. 95, No. 3 Copyright 0 2005 by Northwestern University, School of Law Printed in US.A. A TRIBUTE TO BARD R. FERRALL NOTE FROM THE EDITORS

The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology dedicates this issue to Bard R. Ferrall, who passed away on February 22, 2005. Since his first contribution to Issue 88-3, published in 1998, Bard wrote the Recent Books section in every one of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology's twenty-one subsequent issues. He read and provided summaries for 113 books ranging in topic from police brutality and designer drugs to military tribunals and the Mafia. In addition to his contributions to the Journal, Bard was a beloved member of the greater Northwestern University School of Law community. As a part of the circulation and reference staff at the Law School's Pritzker Legal Research Center, he was sought after by students for his patience and persistence; no problem was too great or too small for Bard to give it his undivided attention. A graduate of the Law School in 1991, Bard was also a great supporter of the school's extracurricular activities. He regularly judged moot court competitions and was an enthusiastic front-row supporter of Northwestern Law's musical productions. Bard was a delight to work with and his dedication to the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology was greatly appreciated not only by this year's editors, but also by the many editors who were blessed to have had the pleasure of working with such a kind, generous and selfless person. Bard's unflagging contributions to this Journal and to the Law School will never be forgotten.
